Florida OFR regulates several financial-service license types. The ORI used for your fingerprint transaction depends on the license or registration you are completing.

Used for applicable Florida mortgage broker and mortgage lender control-person fingerprint requirements. Applicants should follow the NMLS/OFR checklist for their specific entity application.
Mortgage Loan Originator

Used for the separate Florida state criminal background check required for applicable Florida Mortgage Loan Originator applications.
Division of Securities
ORI: FL921250Z
Used for applicable associated persons who must submit fingerprints to Florida’s Division of Securities. Some applicants associated with FINRA member firms may qualify for a fingerprint waiver when qualifying prints have already been processed through FINRA.
Money Services Business
ORI: FL922720Z
Used for applicable persons listed as control persons in a Florida Money Services Business application or qualifying amendment. Limited exemptions may apply.

Florida OFR LiveScan Is Not Always the Same as the NMLS Federal CBC
Florida Mortgage Loan Originator applicants can have both a Florida state criminal background check and a separate federal Criminal Background Check authorized through NMLS.
The Florida state LiveScan uses ORI FL737111Z. When NMLS requires new fingerprints for the federal CBC, NMLS currently directs applicants to schedule through its approved fingerprint vendor, Fieldprint.

Is Florida OFR fingerprinting the same as the NMLS federal criminal background check?
Not always. For Florida MLO applicants, the Florida state criminal background check using ORI FL737111Z is separate from the federal CBC authorized through NMLS. Follow the instructions shown in your NMLS account for each requirement.
