Background checks based on the only consolidated database of US Citizens
We live in an increasingly digitized world and it is not uncommon to interact with people we will never meet in person.
This is why complete, accurate, and reliable background checks are so important.
Unlike online, database-driven background checks, which can only pull information from targeted online data sources, FBI Background Checks are based on the same Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) used by law enforcement, judicial, and governmental agencies nationwide.
Actively managed by the FBI, AFIS is the only consolidated database on US citizens and is not subject to limitations caused by incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate information sometimes received from targeted online database searches.
What You Can Expect
We will arrive promptly on the day, time, and location you specify for your appointment.
Our experienced fingerprint technician will begin your session by confirming the information you provided on our online scheduler, reviewing any additional documents you request, and getting set up.
Using our state-of-the-art mobile fingerprint lab, we need only a solid surface and 10 minutes per customer to obtain clear, precise fingerprint captures.
Once captured, fingerprints and relevant information will be transmitted electronically to the FBI.
Your request will be processed, and the encrypted results are sent to the email address you specify within 48 hours.
FAQs
What information is provided in an FBI Background Check?
An FBI Background Check is a comprehensive report, including information about a person’s:
- Criminal history: Arrest and conviction history, traffic violations, and parking tickets
- Identification: Full legal name, including aliases or former names
- Civil records: Financial judgments, such as bankruptcies or tax liens
- Employment history: Previous employers, including job titles and dates of employment
- Education verification: Degrees obtained, including institutions and dates of graduation
- Fingerprint check: Run against the FBI’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) and against the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database
- Watchlist databases: Sex offender and terrorist watchlist databases
What happens if information on my background check is incorrect?
If your background check contains incorrect or incomplete information, you have two options to request a correction:
- You can contact the agency or agencies that originally submitted the information to the FBI. If the incorrect information is from a federal law enforcement agency, court, or criminal justice agency, you can contact that specific agency and ask them to send the FBI updated information
- You can send a challenge to the FBI’s CJIS Division.
Is electronic submission for an FBI Background Check available for everyone?
No. Electronic FBI Submissions are only available for United States Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders).
If you are not a US citizen or Resident, you must submit hard copy fingerprint cards directly to the FBI.
